Our institute does not teach English as spoken in a specific country. Rather we expose the students to a variety of accents and expressions that are characteristic to all English speaking regions.

Our teaching staff consists of professionals from Paraguay and native English speaking countries. All teachers are internationally certified by Trinity College London.

What is your methodology?

Our teaching program covers the development of the five abilities inherent to the learning of a foreign language: verbal expression, oral comprehension, reading, writing, and the element which makes the difference: the ability to THINK in English. In the development of this methodology, the institute uses of a variety of academic tools.

Do you have language labs?

The institute has a language lab with access to Internet, and the Charles Dickens Library, that complement  the academic program. All students access the lab accompanied by a teacher. What is the duration of each class, and the frequency?

Can I study more than 3 hours a week?

Intensive courses are available, with up to 4.5 and even 6 hours a week, and the student may attend classes two or three times a week.

How many times a week are recommended?

Frequency is of the outmost importance to learn a language. It is always better to attend classes several times a week, than for several hours in a single day. The minimum we recommend is to attend classes twice a week.

Are courses managed according to levels?

At Stael Ruffinelli de Ortiz-English we place great importance on well structured levels. Each student starts at his or her corresponding level, according to a placement test. All levels are organized by age, which means that each student shares the classroom with people of the same age, and classroom activities are adapted to that age group and language level.

How do I know my level?

At the time of registration, we perform an oral and written evaluation of your English level. Your progress from there on will come at your own pace. The evaluation is free.

What materials do you provide?

Each student purchases one set of books every year. According to the levels, they are sufficient to progress through two or three modules. The institute will provide all the extra material: story books, novels, articles, newspapers, movies, etc.

What happens if I cannot come to class?

Each teacher makes an effort to help in the recuperation for lost classes. The institute also offers free reinforcement classes for students that need such help in order to improve and successfully complete the academic courses.
